"Over the past year, my life has been a whirlwind of constant movement — relocating to a new city for an intense engineering internship, making weekly 1.5-hour ferry trips to visit my brother, and starting my days as early as 3am for prayer. Despite the demands of work, training martial arts, lifting, and a hectic schedule, moments of silence and stillness kept me sane and somewhat rested.
For me, tea, music, art, and fashion became the moments of silence. It wasn’t until very recently I tried to experiment with creating an ambience of well paired audio, visual, scents and something to drink/eat, it stemmed from when I decided to kinda “lock in”, I wanted a space where I could reflect without any filters (being brutally honest with yourself about everything is harder than you might think), somewhere that I could put my phone away, shut down my brain and just exist, somewhere outside of all that is happening.
This mix is meant to convey a similar journey (hopefully), to let you escape from everything even just for a small moment. Made from my favourite Dreampunk and dream-heavy ambient music. The songs I chose hold very intimate and personal meanings to me. I hope this mix can take you on a journey of stillness, silence and dreams as well."
