Handmade Dehua Porcelain Teacup
These octagonally faceted teacups are made from Dehua porcelain, which gives the cups their characteristic bone-white lustre. They are slightly translucent at the sides, allowing the colour of the tea inside to shine through when held up to the light.
Each teacup is handmade by an artist in Taiwan resulting in a unique character - there are subtle variations in the size, shape, and glaze from cup to cup. The teacups have an elegantly flared shape that allows them to be neatly stacked together for safe and convenient storage. The high gloss finish is glass-like in its ability to reflect and refract light, giving the teacups a haloed and 'glowing-from-within' radiance.
As is characteristic of Dehua porcelain, these teacups have an exceptionally refined quality that is understood intuitively when handling; they are sleek, smooth, and light in the hand, yet still able to dissipate heat quickly when filled with freshly brewed tea. The cups are a joy to drink from and they suit all kinds of tea. They can be bought alone or in multiples to form a set, and are designed for pairing with our Handmade Dehua Porcelain Pitcher.
Each teacup can hold approximately 30ml of brewed tea, or 50ml if filled to the brim.
Please note: Each purchase is for a single teacup.
