Jingdezhen Porcelain Gaiwan

A technically excellent handmade gaiwan made in Jingdezhen, China, from very fine quality porcelain. The body is very fine and thin, yet exceptionally sturdy and with a pleasing density. The heat dissipation of the flared rim is superb, and the lid fits perfectly to the body. Easy to hold and pour, suitable for all kinds of tea, and a joy to use as a daily driver owing to the masterfully crafted balance. 

100ml water capacity when filled to start of the flair, perfect for 5-7g of tea for gongfu brewing.

If you are used to cheap, mass-produced ‘porcelain’ tea wares, this is a great example of how deep the porcelain rabbit hole goes. 

Compared to Dehua porcelain, such as our Dehua teacups and gongdaobei, Jingdezhen porcelain is more pure white, rather than off-white/bone coloured.
