Faceted Tea Water Bowl by Minna Graham – Stone
These large faceted tea water bowls are handmade by Minna Graham in her Daylesford studio.
The bowl's exterior comes in a rich iron black glaze that has a matte finish and lightly textured handfeel. Minna's artist signature motif has been stamped on the exterior towards the base, and is adorned with a contrasting cool white brushstroke detail that's reminiscent of fresh snow.
The bowl's interior comes in an icy blue glaze that has a silky satin finish. The interior glaze includes organic textural details and subtle freckling as a result of Minna's unique firing process.
The large capacity of these bowls make them ideal for use as a cha yu (茶盂 chá yú) also known as a tea water bowl, storage vessels for pouring used water, excess brewed tea, used tea leaves, and the initial rinse when brewing tea gongfu style.
The bowls come in three sizes: 500ml, 600ml and 750ml capacity
