Ochre Beaker by Minna Graham

This beaker or fairness cup (公道杯 gōngdào bēi) comes in a muted yellow-green ochre glaze and has a glossy finish. This beaker's glaze brings to mind the desaturated tones of dried eucalyptus leaf found around Minna Graham’s studio in Daylesford.

The inner and outer walls of this beaker share the same ochre coloured glaze. There's prominent veining and superficial cracking running through the glass-like glaze — a result of vitrification during Minna's firing process. The outer wall around the base of the beaker has been left unglazed, allowing the natural colour and texture of the base material to come through.

Compared to our Icy Blue Fairness Cup by Minna Graham, these beakers have a more flared profile that rises from a pentagonal base. As a result of their simplified yet functional shape, these vessels can be used as both a spoutless gongdaobei or as a larger drinking vessel.

These beakers have an average capacity of 180ml or 250ml when filled to the brim.
