'REFLUX' Chabu Silk Tea Cloth

This KUURACORP x ERODUCTIONS 'Reflux' Chabu Silk Tea Cloth is a specially commissioned tea cloth made of 100% natural silk. A chabu (茶布 chá bù) is a medium-sized tea cloth that is commonly used as both a functional and ornamental placemat in Chinese tea brewing contexts. 

This chabu features artwork from multidisciplinary artist and long-time KUURACORP collaborator, ERODUCTIONS. Each chabu is a limited edition of 10 and features 3D artwork and text designed by ERODUCTIONS and digitally printed on silk using non-toxic water-based pigments.

The entire manufacturing process from design to production was undertaken locally in Melbourne, Australia.

  • This cloth is designed to be used as a backdrop for your tea brewing sessions, staining and wearing over time. To wash, use cold water and a very gentle detergent, and avoid wringing or rubbing the material. Instead, lay the silk in a cotton towel and roll to remove excess water, before air drying in the shade. It can be ironed on a low temperature on the reverse side. Avoid sunlight.
