2019 'DETHFLOW' Raw Puer

'Dethflow' is our flagship raw puer for 2019. The material is from eastern Xishuangbanna, China, and has a very soft, sweet, and luxurious character. Very thick mouthfeel, strong huigan, and with a very well-integrated bitterness, buried beneath layers of supple silky smoothness. This tea will ramp up in strength as it ages, turning more to sweet wood and stone-fruits.

For those chasing the dragon, we find it's quite a strongly sedating tea. If you want to find out how to get tea drunk, Dethflow is a good place to start.

A premium tea with a fairly premium price tag, but a cake we believe reflects our philosophy and approach to puer, and why it's such a worthwhile pursuit.

The art is from our continued collaboration with Australian artist Max Prentis.

Spring 2019 material, 200g cakes, 5 cakes per bamboo wrapped tong. Loose compression. Buy one for now, and buy one to age.

  • Use boiling water (100C).

We recommend approx 1g of tea per 15ml of water for Gongfu-style brewing in a teapot or gaiwan. Rinse the leaves once and then brew several times until there is no flavour left.

For Western-style brewing in a larger teapot, use approx. 5g per 100ml of water. You can re-brew the leaves a few times.

To brew direct in a mug, use 1-2g of tea in the bottom of the cup, fill with boiling water, and drink once cool. Re-fill the cup with more water when you've drunk 1/3rd of the tea. Repeat until there is no more flavour left.

  • All of our teas are suitable for long-term storage and aging.

Keep your tea away from sunlight and strong smells, and somewhere with stable climate conditions.

You can keep it sealed inside the re-usable bag the tea comes in, or another non-porous container.
